Science Research in the Classroom

edTrends| Science Research in the Classroom

Interested in starting a Science Research course in your high school? Does your school already offer Science Research? Science Research provides students with important skills to become independent learners and thinkers but can be a daunting task for teachers who are new to this advanced course. Join a conversation with NYS Master Teachers based in Long Island high schools to learn from their experiences. The group—with a combined total of 38 years teaching Science Research–will share their successful examples of research programs and projects, as well as their ideas for how teachers find support when students select projects that are beyond the scope of their teacher expertise. This discussion welcomes teachers who are new to teaching Science Research, those who are currently teaching the course, and teachers who are curious to learn about this opportunity for students.
