The Power of Restorative Practices

This session will focus on the effectiveness of restorative justice practices. Restorative practices calls for a shift from a traditional school discipline approach to one that is rooted in strong relationships between faculty and students, works to prevent discipline issues, but holds students accountable to repair the harm when they do occur. We will be joined by Dr. Tom Cavanagh and Adele Bovard from Restorative Justice Ed, along with instructional leaders from Capital Region BOCES that have recently implemented a school-wide restorative approach.
